Coach Holidays and Tours to Poland

Poland is a country with an eventful and unhappy history and its monuments and museums reflect its tragic past, but also celebrate its survival. If you are interested in WW2 history, we have a good selection of battlefield tours including a coach trip to Auschwitz. Our coach holidays to Poland also incorporate the cities of Krakow, Zakopane and Warsaw and will travel through other European countries allowing you to visit more than one destination on your touring holiday. Away from the cities, much of Poland is unspoiled, with dense forests, mountain passes, beautiful lakes and attractive waterways. If you like the great outdoors, there is plenty of scope for hiking, cycling, canoeing and kayaking.

Warsaw Highlights

Warsaw, the delightful capital of Poland has had a long and tumultuous history and the architecture of this fascinating city reflects this – skyscrapers rise above the red roofs of the Old Town and restored Baroque, Gothic, neoclassical and Renaissance buildings blend in harmoniously with modern architecture - unusual, but it works well! The wonderful Old Town of Warsaw offers splendid architecture and impressive with buildings with well-preserved and detail-steeped decorations. Auschwitz, Poland

Trips to Auschwitz-Birkenau

Just 70 km from Krakow, Auschwitz-Birkenau complex is one of the most important places to visit on your coach holidays to Poland if you are interested in the history of WWII. The terrifyingly massive and most notorious Concentration Camp that was built in German-occupied Poland during WW2. Consisting of two parts: Auschwitz and Auschwitz II – Birkenau, the former German Nazi concentration camp is now a memorial and a museum that has great historical importance connected to the Holocaust.

Coach Trips to Auschwitz are available from the UK with our WW2 Battlefield Tours or escorted tours to Poland and Eastern Europe.

Krakow, Poland

Krakow Highlights

Krakow is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and is a popular stop for those joining us on one of our escorted tours to Poland. Its Old Town which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, has an enormous 13th century Market Square which is filled with pavement cafes, vendors, horse and carriages, and unfortunately, a huge number of pigeons! With its historic sites and attractions, such as the sadly poignant Ghetto Heroes Square, St. Mary’s Basilica Renaissance, and the 16th-century Renaissance Cloth Hall, its colourful streets and an annual list of spectacular events and festivals celebrating the arts, theatre, music and food, there is always something to see and do in this lovely city.

In the city centre, you will find the Main Market Square. It dates back to the 13th century and is one of the largest medieval town squares in Europe. It features magnificent architecture and works of art in gothic and renaissance style. A very beautiful traditional area with plenty of shops, restaurants, historic churches, museums and white horse-drawn carriages. Great place to spend some lovely time and enjoy the atmosphere. And if you are visiting Krakow during the winter festive season be prepared to see a huge, beautifully illuminated Christmas tree and an impressive Christmas Market.

Wawel Royal Castle is one of the biggest castles in Poland and is a great historical place located just in central Krakow. The imposing castle was built in the early 14th century. While Krakow was the capital of Poland the fortified castle structures became the main residence and a fortress for Polish royalty. Today the Wawel Castle is the most popular attraction in Krakow. The interior of royal apartments provides marvellous design and the highest class works of art. Nowadays it also houses the Crown Treasury.
