Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive Cairns (3 Nights)
Your leisurely vacation kicks off in Cairns (flights to arrive prior to 2pm). This evening, 'Connect With Locals' at Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Watch a rousing indigenous 'Welcome to Country' ceremony and hear Dreamtime stories before enjoying an exclusive 'Be My Guest' dinner with the sounds of the didgeridoo in the background.
Day 2 : Great Barrier Reef
Slice through the azure waters of the Coral Sea on board a high-speed catamaran to the Great Barrier Reef and to an astounding wonderland 'Downunder'. Witness the utopia beneath the ocean surface, observing the diversity of this living wall that spans over 2,000km along Australia's Queensland Coast. Sit back in a semi-submersible craft and admire the tranquil depths of the reef. You'll have an opportunity to go snorkelling (equipment provided), before indulging in a tropical buffet lunch with the knowledge that there's a whole other world swimming below.
Day 3 : Cairns At Leisure
Slow it right down in true Cairns style. Today is yours to experience this port city at your leisure, or let loose into the tropical rainforests of Queensland on an Optional Experience.
Day 4 : Fly from Cairns - Uluru (2 Nights)
The chilled cityscape of Cairns behind us, we fly to the Red Centre of Australia and to Uluru (Ayers Rock). Put paint to canvas with the help of your 'Local Specialist' and Aboriginal artist who will share the symbolism used in Western Desert Art. Then create your own masterpiece to take home as a memento of your time at Uluru. Later, take a leisurely educational drive through the terracotta-hued desert plains of the Outback to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Embrace this place of peace before watching the red and orange hues signal the end of another day, celebrated with sundowner nibbles and bubbles. We spend the next two nights at one of Trafalgar's 'Stays with Stories', the Desert Gardens Hotel, against the backdrop of the Outback's glowing red landscape.
Day 5 : Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sightseeing
This morning behold an intoxicating pink, purple and yellow dawn canvas set against the majestic red sandstone mound of Uluru. It's well worth an early start to your day, hearing about the caretakers of this spiritual centre, the Anangu people, who have regarded this site as sacred for centuries. 'Dive Into Culture' and spend your day in a soulful exploration of their ancient culture and traditions, until the larger-than-life sky turns a fiery shade of orange and red and gives rise to another opportunity to enjoy sundowners against an Uluru backdrop. Savour the flavours of an Aussie barbecue Regional Dinner while the night sky lights up with billions of stars and a 'Local Specialist' shares insights into the southern hemisphere's constellations.
Day 6 : Fly from Uluru (Ayers Rock) - Sydney (3 Nights)
Rise with the birds and visit the kaleidoscopic art installation in the desert, the Field of Light. This soul-stirring start to your morning gives way to yet another magical experience on top of a sand dune to watch the desert landscape awaken over Uluru with a hot drink in hand. Later, fly to Sydney where the evening is free to explore the city the way you like.
Day 7 : Sydney Sightseeing
Think beautiful beaches, iconic architecture and a tangible sense of vitality - Sydney will tick all these boxes and more. Visit famous Bondi Beach where you'll rub shoulders with the sun-worshipping locals before heading to the Sydney Opera House for a privately guided 'behind-the-scenes' tour. Our encounter with Sydney's picture-perfect harbour hasn't quite come to an end as we board a lunch cruise on Sydney Harbour. Enjoy a fresh seasonal menu, as you sail past the magnificent waterfront mansions, parklands, coves and golden beaches. See the billowing white sails of the Opera House from the water and cruise under the Harbour Bridge.
Day 8 : Sydney At Leisure
Get your final fix of Sydney with a free full day to explore the city on your terms. The shimmering Blue Mountains are just a short drive away and you'll have an opportunity to join an Optional Experience for fresh air and stunning scenery. Join your Travel Director and new friends for a Regional Dinner on the Darling Harbour waterfront.
Day 9 : Fly from Sydney - Queenstown (3 Nights)
This morning say farewell to Sydney and fly to Queenstown, on arrival travel to the delightful gold rush village of Arrowtown situated on the Arrow River which was once one of the world’s richest rivers, later get a feel for Queenstown and surrounds on an orientation tour. This evening meet your travel director for a welcome reception and dinner at The Boatshed, set in the historic New Zealand Railways shipping Office built in 1936. Restored and relocated to its lakefront setting, the Boatshed, with its spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range, is the perfect setting for your highlight dinner with wine.
Day 10 : Queenstown
Get the feel for real country life at a Be My Guest experience with your host, Southern Girl Laura, who was born and raised on a sheep farm in the deep south of New Zealand. Try your hand at sheep mustering, whip cracking as well as the chance to feed and pet the farm animals. Laura is sure you’ll leave feeling more like a local than a visitor.
Day 11 : Queenstown Free Time
Your final day in Queenstown could see you take an optional experience through Fiordland National Park for a cruise on Milford Sound.
Day 12 : Fly from Queenstown - Rotorua (2 Nights)
This morning, you’ll fly from Queenstown to Rotorua. This evening we visit Mitai where you’ll experience the heart-pounding wero (challenge) from a Maori warrior during the Powhiri, a ceremonial welcome. Feast on succulent meats and vegetables cooked in a hangi, the traditional Maori method of cooking in the earth.
Day 13 : Rotorua Sightseeing
Visit Rainbow Springs Nature Park for a tour with a 'Local Specialist'. Continue to the Living Maori Village Whakarewarewa and 'Dive Into Culture' to gain in-depth insights into the lives of the Māori people and the special bond they share with this ancient land. See New Zealand's biggest geyser, bubbling mud pools and thermal springs.
Day 14 : Rotorua - Auckland
Today we journey north and join our 'Local Specialist' in a starry wonderland - a cavernous galaxy of twinkling bright green and blue glow worms that light up the Waitomo Caves. We continue to Auckland for a city tour and later, we'll join our Travel Director and new-found friends for a Farewell Dinner.
Day 15 : Depart Auckland
Bid farewell to your epic Antipodean adventure as you are transferred to Auckland Airport for your onward flight (flights anytime).
