Lille including Christmas Market
Lille is a cultural hub and bustling university city and was once an important merchant centre of French Flanders and many Flemish influences remain. The historic center, Vieux Lille, is characterized by 17th-century brick town houses, cobbled pedestrian streets and the large central square, Grand Place. There is a large choice of shops, bars and restaurants available in this fascinating city.
The month long Christmas Market in Lille is the largest in Northern France and has been a tradition for centuries. A popular destination for years, the festival is held in the Place Rihour in the towns centre. Entertainment includes a fun fair, concerts, and exhibitions and of course Father Christmas, who is available throughout the festival so children can have their photo taken with him. The market takes over the Place Rihour with over 50 stalls offering a vast range of local products and original gifts.
Canterbury including Christmas Market
England’s most famous cathedral city sits in one of the most attractive corners of rural Kent. The majestic cathedral watches proudly over the charming, narrow streets and old buildings of this wondrous city - a delightful mix of architecture, history, art, culture, museums, shops of every description, visitor attractions and good restaurants...something for everyone!
Once again the sparkling Canterbury Christmas Market returns to get you well and truly into the Christmas spirit. In 2020 there will be the usual wide range of traditional market stalls, great events, so make sure you don't miss out!
