Today, enjoy an included excursion to Trier, the oldest city in Germany. On arrival we will be met by our guide who will introduce us to the main highlights of the city on our included sightseeing tour.
Later, enjoy time at leisure to explore the Christmas market. Every year before Christmas, the main Market Square – in front of the imposing backdrop of Trier Cathedral – is transformed into a dazzling paradise of lights and colours, festive sounds and seductive fragrances. We include a full-day excursion to Strasbourg, a charming city situated in France's Alsace region. See the extensive Christmas markets here. Stroll through the Marché de Noël, absorbing the sights and smells of seasonal treats, with mulled wine, gingerbread and Bredele Alsacian butter biscuits aplenty! See the giant Christmas tree in Place Kléber, the ice-skating rink by the cathedral, and enjoy the unique atmosphere in Strasbourg’s town squares.Breakfast, Dinner
Our optional excursion takes us to the charming French town of Metz, home to the splendid Saint-Etienne Cathedral, and said to be one of the highest Gothic structures in Europe. Metz Cathedral has around 6,500m² of stained glass windows and is sometimes referred to as ‘God’s Lantern’. Stroll around the historic town centre, where you can marvel at the largest temporary big wheel in Europe, see the food specialities on Place de Chambre, or enjoy the traditional market and 17-metre ‘Christmas Pyramid’ on Place St. Louis.Breakfast, Dinner
