Northern France (Paris, Hauts-de-France)
The cosmopolitan capital of France needs little introduction, thanks to its reputation as one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Europe. With iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, plus elegant boulevards and charming pavement cafés, Paris is always a delight to explore. On this French escape there’s plenty of time to seek out the city’s hidden gems, and we also include a cruise along the picturesque River Seine to tick off the sights from a different perspective – bon voyage!
Set in a charming half-timbered building, the 4-star Best Western Plus Paris Meudon Ermitage Hotel is located southwest of Paris, on the edge of Meudon Forest. The stylish hotel offers free Wi-Fi, a bar, restaurant, fitness room and modern bedrooms with flat-screen TV and tea and coffee-making facilities.
Day 1
Ferry to Calais and on to our hotel on the outskirts of Paris, where we stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 - Paris (with optional guided city tour £22pp)
We head into France’s capital, Paris, where we spend the day at leisure to discover its many iconic landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Wander through the quaint streets of the Latin Quarter or along the lovely banks of the Seine, there is so much choice! There’s also the chance to join an optional guided city tour, taking in all the main sights. Later, there’s time to enjoy an early dinner before the coach takes us back to our hotel.
Day 3 – River Seine Cruise
This morning we venture back into Paris where we’re treated to a cruise along the famous River Seine, the perfect way to take in the many sights of Paris. We spend the afternoon at leisure in this wonderful city, including time to enjoy an early dinner before the coach picks us up again to return to the hotel.
Day 4
Today we stop off en-route in the beautiful city of Amiens. Admire the spectacular Gothic architecture here, browse the unique shops along the narrow streets, delve into the world of Jules Verne at his former home, discover century-spanning art in the Musée De Picardie and don’t miss the floating market gardens. We then continue to Calais for our return ferry home.
