Day 2 – Valley of de Bocq Train & Namur
We start the day with a lovely train ride along the old line of the Valley of de Bocq, from Yvoir to Ciney, one of the most beautiful areas of the Belgian Ardennes. The train cuts a path through tunnels and over viaducts, with plenty of incredible scenery to admire.
After disembarking the train in Ciney, we make our way to Namur, nestled at the confluence of the Meuse and Sambre rivers. This pretty medieval city is overlooked by a sprawling hilltop citadel, below which stands a picturesque old town and cobblestone lanes dotted with cafés, restaurants and shops.
Later, we have the opportunity to enjoy dinner in a restaurant of our choice (not included) before the coach takes us back to our hotel.
Day 3 – Three Valleys Train & Brussels
This morning we head to Mariembourg where we board our historic Three Valleys train for an enchantingly picturesque journey through the Ardennes Natural Park, enjoying the beautiful views along the way.
On arrival in Treignes, we rejoin the coach and head to Brussels. Belgium’s capital city has plenty to offer including the beautiful cobbled central square, Grand-Place, lined with exquisite buildings. Brussels is also well-known for its food and drink, especially waffles, chocolate, French fries and numerous types of beers, available in the many bars and eateries! We enjoy time at leisure in the city, with the chance to find a restaurant for dinner (not included), before the coach takes us back to our hotel.
