Attractions and Interests in Venice

Venice is the capital of Italy’s Veneto region and is unique in the fact that it is built on a group of more than 100 small islands formed by about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. Therefore, instead or roads, Venice relies on a series of waterways and canals. Venice is a living museum with breathtaking architectural and historic heritage. One of the most famous areas of the city is the Grand Canal thoroughfare, which was a major centre of the Renaissance. Overhanging the Grand Canal is the fantastically ornate Rialto Bridge, said to be the most beautiful bridge in all of Venice. Another unmistakable area is the Piazza San Marco where you’ll find Doge’s Palace, St. Marks Campanile and the stunning Basilica.
