The traditional sparkling cultural atmosphere and the good schools of Szeged nurtured many a great writer, poet and scientist. The Nobel-prize laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi gained global renown when he separated pure vitamin C from paprika, the spice of Szeged.

Built in 1883 this beautiful theatre provides Eclectic and Neo-baroque style architecture. Even though it burned down in 1885 it was completely reconstructed according to the original plans.

Votive Church of Szeged

The twin-spired church lies on the Dom Square. Due to WWI it was not finished until 1930. It offers a wonderful decorated red and white façade with marvelous detail-rich interior.

Ferenc Mora Museum

The imposing marble palace houses the museum of famous Hungarian novelist and journalist Ferenc Mora. It displays the life and work of Magyar artist.

Szeged Synagogue

In the heart of the city of Szeged this wonderful Synagogue is located. Built in 1907 it is known as one of the best examples Magyar architectonic style.
