The Kremlin of Novgorod stands on the left bank of the Volkhov River. It was first mentioned in 1044. As a part of Novgorod's Old Town it is today a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. It consists of several well-preserved towers and fortified city walls.

Sophie Cathedral

The Cathedral was first built from wood in 989. It was rebuilt several times as a reminder to the Normans that have settled around there. The famous bronze-doors were founded in the late 12th century in Magdeburg, Germany.

Millennium of Russia

This bronze monument was erected in 1862 to celebrate Rurik's arrival to Novgorod, which marked the starting point of Russian history. The landmark offers wonderful, detail-rich sculptures and design.
